My name is Sam and I cannot wait to meet you!

A little bit about me - I lived in Manila, Madrid and San Francisco before moving to Hong Kong almost 10 years ago. I have a background in Project Management, Marketing and Communications, and Organization Development. It’s a mixed bag but it worked for me and I loved what I did. But I decided it was time to break away from the corporate world so I can start a business that I felt immensely passionate about while focusing on raising my two young children and experiencing life with my husband x best friend.

I am trying to embrace minimalist living this year (ask me later how this is going). I found the visual arts rather late in life, but I discovered that I thoroughly enjoy designing, photography, and writing. I find inspiration in reading, traveling, outdoor adventures and, of course, my tribe of loved ones. My husband Ryan and I have this dream of taking the kids and travelling for a year together. And just for myself, I want to learn how to free dive one day.

The introvert in me just LOVES the intimate sessions I do with couples and families. I am a listener through and through. I really enjoy learning about your personal story and connecting over relationships, parenting, embarrassing stories, epic wins and fails, struggles and everything in between. And I love kids - I love cuddling with babies (we are done after our two) and just playing with children. Most of all, I just feel so honored to be able to peek into your everyday life and witness your love for

each other.

 Let’s Be Friends

About Nestology

I remember my own family shoots when my husband and I felt pressured to have well-behaved, smiling young kids just to make sure that we get the most out of our shoot. Heck, I didn’t feel comfortable in front of the camera myself. I know exactly how parents feel. And when parents feel stressed, the kids feel it, too.

So when I turned Nestology into a full-time family photography studio, I wanted to make sure that my families will look and feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin. I want to provide an experience that mirrors feelings they would have when they are at home - happy, at ease, loved up, sometimes crazy but always real and natural. Because it is precisely in this natural setting where the most meaningful and imperfectly perfect moments can be found.

I take what I do seriously and handle my clients’ most intimate memories and stories with utmost care. I strive to make the entire Nestology customer experience enjoyable and, above all, personal. I see all my families as friends and genuinely delight in watching them and their beautiful children grow year on year.

My hope is that, after working together, you will come away feeling that I have captured who you are as a family and the magic of your everyday moments - the smiles, the tears, the laughter, the chaos, the mischief, the sweetness, the changes over time, and just all the love that you share.

HOW MY HUSBAND AND I MET

I met Ryan at a Bush concert when I was and he was 15. He was my first ever puppy love and when we had to go our separate ways then, he wrote me a love letter saying that he would marry me one day. Well, he definitely kept his promise.

FAVORITE FAMILY PAST TIME

Eating - it's a way of life in our fam. It's almost embarrassing how much we eat. Going to music festivals and concerts together + rocking out loudly to music in the car is also a must! If the sun is out, you will almost always find us at one of our favorite beaches. We love going out for Baekmidang ice cream after (or anytime really).

FAVORITE CORE MEMORY WITH THE FAMILY

One of my favorite core memories is our Canada trip together. It was our first trip as a family since the pandemic happened and it was just so great to do new firsts with our kids like exploring the Rockies, white water rafting, ziplining, and horse riding. It was great because now that the kids are older, the road trips were more fun, many jokes were cracked, countless songs were sung—we did so many spontaneous and carefree things.
